How ever do we use However?!

Why wouldn’t we be confused when ‘how ever’ and ‘however’, two words which are differentiated by only a space, mean two entirely different things? Let’s try to make sense of these two words.
HOWEVER is used instead of: -
- But: I would like to go on a trip, however, I can’t.
- In whatever way: I don’t care how you finish the project! Do it however you can.
- Nevertheless: We have heard this song a million times, however, we dance to it every time.
HOW EVER has only one usage:-
- To show emphasis when we are questioning the possibility of something: How ever did you create such a huge mess?!
